The Acoustic Revive MC-1 is a flagship moving-coil (MC) phono cartridge engineered to exceed conventional MC limitations by rethinking materials, structure, and generator architecture. It combines a ZYX “Real Stereo” generator, a MicroRidge stylus, and a convergent carbon-fiber cantilever with an ultra-high-conductivity PC-TripleC/EX (silver + copper hybrid forged) coil to achieve extremely low internal impedance…

Description

If your turntable system is already revealing, the cartridge becomes the single biggest “character” component—and often the greatest bottleneck. The Acoustic Revive MC-1 is designed as a no-compromise MC cartridge that targets the typical weaknesses of traditional MC designs: conductivity losses in the coil and terminals, eddy-current distortion from metal bodies, and static charge effects that can raise noise and blur fine detail.

PC-TripleC/EX coil: conductivity and low impedance

A defining engineering choice is the MC-1’s PC-TripleC/EX coil wire, specified as a silver + copper hybrid forged conductor with very high conductivity (Acoustic Revive references I.A.C.S. 105%). This conductor is used for the generator coil (φ0.04mm), enabling an exceptionally low 2.0Ω internal impedance—a key parameter for strong current transfer and stable performance into step-up transformers or MC phono stages.

ZYX Real Stereo generator for imaging and balance

The MC-1 uses a ZYX Real Stereo generator system. Alongside the cartridge’s measured channel matching—channel balance < 0.5dB (1kHz) and channel separation > 30dB (1kHz)—this supports precise phantom imaging, stable center fill, and realistic stage geometry when setup is correct.

MicroRidge stylus + carbon-fiber cantilever: tracking and detail

For the stylus system, Acoustic Revive specifies a MicroRidge stylus and a convergent carbon-fiber cantilever, paired with a pure rubber damper. This combination is aimed at extracting low-level groove information with clean transient edges, while maintaining controlled tracking behavior across complex passages.

Non-metallic body to reduce distortion and static effects

A standout design element is the cartridge body: acrylic resin impregnated with natural ore powder. Acoustic Revive’s rationale is that metal bodies can generate distortion via eddy currents; the MC-1’s non-metal body is intended to avoid that drawback. They also describe the ore material as helping suppress static by promoting a negative-ion environment inside the cartridge.

System matching and setup guidance

With 0.24mV output, MC-1 is a true low-output MC design. It benefits from a high-quality MC gain stage or step-up transformer designed for low-impedance cartridges. Tracking is specified at 1.7–2.5g, with a recommended 2.0g, helping you dial in performance based on tonearm mass, alignment, and record condition.

For best results, treat MC-1 like a reference tool: careful alignment, VTA/SRA attention, stable azimuth, and clean records will be clearly audible—rewarding you with stronger separation, deeper soundstage, and more natural timbre.

The ACOUSTIC REVIVE MC-1 re-examines the material and structural problems of conventional MC cartridges, incorporating various new materials and a novel power generation mechanism to achieve characteristics that surpass the limitations of conventional MC cartridges.

A newly developed coil using PC-TripleC/EX, an audio-specific conductor boasting exceptional conductivity.

The coil windings utilize PC-TripleC/EX, a hybrid forged conductor of silver and copper boasting an IACS conductivity of 105%, achieving an extremely low internal impedance value of 2 Ω .

The terminal pins utilize a newly developed silver/copper alloy.

While most conventional cartridges use brass or phosphor bronze for their terminal pins, we have adopted a newly developed silver-copper alloy.
No matter how low the internal resistance value is, it’s all for nothing if the conductivity of the terminal pins is low. The conductivity of brass and phosphor bronze was as low as 25-43% IACS, but the silver-copper alloy used in the MC-1 achieves a conductivity of 98%.

Cartridge body made of special resin material impregnated with natural minerals.

When the part of a cartridge that houses the power generation mechanism is made of metal, distortion caused by eddy currents can lead to a degradation of sound quality.
The MC-1 eliminates the disadvantages of metal cartridges by using a newly developed acrylic resin material impregnated with natural mineral powder that has a negative potential, and precisely processing the body shape using a 3D printer. Furthermore,
by impregnating it with natural mineral powder that has a negative potential, the inside of the cartridge constantly generates negative ions in response to the magnetic field from the power generation mechanism, thus also having the effect of suppressing the generation of static electricity.

The power generation mechanism employs a newly developed VX system, achieving even left and right channel balance and a wide frequency range and dynamic range. The cantilever uses composite carbon to eliminate the distortion caused by the cantilever material.
