The world’s first banana plug and Y-lug plug adopt a vibration-damping structure that combines dissimilar metals: a brass body and an aviation-level aluminum alloy cap. The contact area is mirror-polished, and conductivity is maximized by silver and rhodium plating, along with ultra-low temperature treatment at -196°C. The cable is attached using a strong screw-fastening method that does not use solder, which can deteriorate conductivity. The center pin of the banana plug has a 4-part outward-opening lock mechanism groove that allows it to be firmly fixed to the speaker terminal. This is the only banana plug and Y-lug that can actively improve sound quality compared to no cable terminal processing.
For both the RBN-1 and RYG-1, the terminal contacts are made of lead-free brass, which has excellent conductivity. The contacts are mirror-polished to significantly increase the contact area, and the surface is rhodium-plated to further improve conductivity and durability.
Both the RBN-1 and RYG-1 utilize a dual screw fastening method to securely attach the cable to the cable connection, ensuring a large contact area. This eliminates the instability and reduced contact area that can occur with crimping methods, as well as the loss of conductivity caused by soldering. Additionally, the fixing screws are gold-plated to enhance durability and conductivity.
For both the RGC-1 and RYG-1, the main body and the cable fixing screws undergo ultra-low temperature treatment at -196°C, which further improves the conductivity performance.
Both the RBN-1 and RYG-1 are equipped with A2017S aviation-grade aluminum alloy vibration-damping caps that effectively reduce vibrations between dissimilar metals, such as brass, without compromising sound quality due to vibrations, as may occur with other types of banana plugs or Y-lugs. Additionally, they are able to rapidly minimize vibrations transmitted from speaker terminals and cables, significantly enhancing sound quality.
Both the RBN-1 and RYG-1 use non-magnetic materials for the body, screws, plating, etc. If iron screws are used, as with other banana plugs or Y-lugs, or if nickel plating is applied to the plating base, the ferromagnetic material will be magnetized by the current, causing magnetic distortion and significantly degrading the sound quality. However, the RBN-1 and RYG-1 do not cause any such magnetic distortion.
When it comes to conductivity, it’s best to connect the speaker cable directly to the speaker terminals. However, if the wire comes apart at the end or isn’t tightly fastened, conductivity may decrease. The RBN-1 and RYG-1 structures mentioned above maximize conductivity. Additionally, adopting a vibration-damping structure can potentially improve sound quality even more than connecting the speaker cable directly.
