This device reduces the back electromotive force produced at the speaker system terminals and enhances sound quality. When a jumper is used on a speaker that supports bi-wiring, it renders the bi-wiring ineffective, leading to deterioration in sound quality and phase characteristics due to back electromotive force and uneven cable lengths. The BWA-4 is designed to eliminate the need for jumpers and evenly distribute power to the low and high-frequency speaker terminals, thereby eradicating the effects of back electromotive force and achieving accurate phase characteristics. Expensive jumper wires are useless!
Many speakers nowadays come with bi-wire input terminals to prevent the back electromotive force generated by the movement of the woofer from affecting the sound quality. The correct way to connect these speakers is to use bi-amp drive with two power amplifiers or bi-wire connection with two sets of speaker cables. However, many people seem to be unaware of this. As a result, some specialist magazines even recommend connecting the high-frequency and low-frequency sides crosswise, and there are cable manufacturers selling expensive jumper wires which are actually unnecessary.
For bi-wire speakers, it’s best to eliminate jumpers and connect two sets of speaker cables separately for the low-frequency and high-frequency sides in order to achieve the best sound performance. However, due to the recent increase in speaker cable prices, some people may not be able to afford two sets of speaker cables. Additionally, some amplifiers only have one set of speaker terminals, making it impossible to connect two sets of thick speaker cables. The bi-wire adapter BWA-4 is a solution to this problem. In order to prevent the degradation of sound quality resulting from the insertion of an adapter into the middle of a speaker cable, the BWA-4 has been designed to maximize conductivity. It is made of highly conductive lead-free brass with rhodium plating, and the cable is securely connected with gold-plated double screws that do not affect conductivity like soldering or crimping. Additionally, conductivity is further improved through ultra-low temperature treatment at -196°C.
Insulating tube included
The BWA-4 includes an insulating tube to prevent the + and – terminals from touching each other and causing a short circuit. If the + and – terminals are not sufficiently spaced apart and there is a risk of them coming into contact, make sure to cover them with the insulating tube before using the product.
